The Air Spike Forty model represents the third collaboration between Jordan Brand and filmmaker Spike Lee, following the success of the Spizike and Son of Mars designs. With a storied affiliation with the brand, Lee's involvement led to memorable campaigns featuring Mars Blackmon, a character from his film "She’s Gotta Have It," alongside Michael Jordan and the trio of hybrid shoe models. The Spike Forty pays homage to the Air Jordan 5, incorporating elements like a transparent outsole, reflective accents, and a lace toggle modeled to resemble Lee’s face.
