ASICS Gel-Mai Bodega Underground: A Unique Collaboration

Boston-based retailer Bodega collaborated with asics to create the standout Boxstock x Gel Mai ‘Underground’ in 2017. This design draws inspiration from human movement and skeletal anatomy, showcasing a distinctive combination of materials on its upper. It features a mix of ostrich leather, nubuck, suede, and pebbled leather, accented by striped mesh and vibrant orange nylon webbing on the tongue.

Distinct Features and Design Elements

The sneakers come with three different lace choices. They also sport a speckled midsole complemented by a lavender jewel logo on the heel, and a see-through outsole that unveils a skeletal foot beneath.
